Following Government & IDTA guidelines closely we are now ready to return to class. To remain safe, healthy and socially distant we will have the following extra measures in place (These measures will be in place until at least 21stJune).

Entry/exit to building

  • Ingress and egress will be clearly marked.

  • Dancers must arrive a minimum of 5 minutes and no earlier than 10 minutes before their session time.

  • As waiting areas are currently closed, we expect the carparks to be busy. With this in mind we ask that you park sensibly and respectfully and do not use disabled bays unless you are a badge holder.

  • Face coverings must be worn when queuing, upon entering the building and throughout all common areas. They may only be removed when in the dance space.

  • If a dancer is feeling unwell, we reserve the right to refuse admission to class.

  • If a dancer cannot adapt to current measures, they may be asked to delay their return to class until restrictions are eased.

  • A few ‘test and trace’ questions will be asked to make sure that we are complying with government directive. Contact information will be taken from our stored records. If there are any changes please inform the office via jill@jfdc.co.uk.

  • There will be a hand sanitizing station by registration and a clearly marked handwashing area which must be used before commencement of classes.

  • If you have tested positive for covid-19, have experienced coronavirus symptoms or have been in contact with someone who exhibits symptoms you must notattend your lesson.

  • If you exhibit symptoms or test positive for COVID-19 after you have attended your lesson you must inform us. For further info please visit https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nhs-test-and-trace-how-it-works

  • Egress will be clearly marked, and exit will be staggered to one dancer at a time.

  • Children under the age of 14 can be checked in by one parent/guardian (no 2ndparent or siblings will be allowed into the check-in area)

  • Children must be collected promptly from outside the studio exit as we need to maintain numbers and cannot be responsible for any student outside of their lesson time (Please leave adequate space around the exit so social distancing can be maintained).

  • As the waiting areas are currently closed, dancers/parents cannot wait inside the building during/in between lessons e.g. if waiting between two non-consecutive lesson slots.

Use of common areas and restrooms

  • Waiting areas will be closed until further notice, this is to limit the total number of people in the building. We encourage you to either wait in your car or use the outside area.

  • Use of the restrooms is discouraged unless absolutely necessary. Face covering must be worn when using these facilities (age 11 plus).

Cleaning of studio and entryways

  • The studio will be thoroughly cleaned with antibacterial product before the start of classes.

  • Lessons will be timed so that there will be adequate time to clean the studio in-between sessions.

  • In between each lesson slot, all door handles and any seating used will be cleaned with antibacterial cleaner and the floor will be swept.

  • There will be antibacterial gel available throughout.

Social distancing during lessons

  • There will be no student/teacher physical contact during lessons and teachers will stay in an allocated area which will be maintained using floor markers.

  • Partnering/contact dancing is permitted when members of the same household/support bubble attend together.

  • Maximum class numbers will be determined by the size of the space and the current Government/IDTA directive.

  • Each dancer will have an individual space which will be clearly marked.

  • Face coverings and other PPE are not required whilst dancing. However, you may wear a face covering if preferred.

  • We have been working hard to make sure that the content of your lesson will be fulfilling and useful, even without physical contact and restricted dance space.

Personal property

  • All personal property (which should be kept to a minimum) is to be kept with dancers at all times including coats, bags and personal belongings. There will be allocated chairs for your items and use whilst dancing, which will be sanitized in-between sessions.

  • Use of communal equipment will be suspended until further notice.

  • Dancers must arrive in their dance attire as changing facilities will not be available.

  • No cash or cheque payments will be accepted.

  • Payment must be made in advance Via BACS or web payment
